Strike a Pose!

Thats right, I am full of poses in my new knitted socks! I loved making these socks. The repeats were 9 for the cuff and 9 for the foot. creepy huh? I WILL be making these socks again, I just know it. Heather(from All Things Heather)dyed the yarn, it is called Rapunzel... The yarn is very thin but it is super soft and a joy to work with. I think she sold out of this kind of superwash fingering weight on Kpixie, not sure? I loved "Mahogany", but restrained myself. So the Specs?

Yarn,Rapunzel
Pattern, Badcaul
Needles, Sz 2 40" addi
Start to finsh? May 22 to June 6, 06

I took a beginners crochet class tonight with my SIL Jennifer. I loved it! It was a little hard to get my hook in the purl bumps in the chain, but by that third row I felt like a pro. Not to mention we got to meet some lovely ladies. Here is a picture of my Single crochet, Half double, and double crochet practice squares.

Intervention! If you want to read my official intervention story and goals go to Http://stashalong.blogspot.com (it is about 6 entries down titled: intro and goals)

In short: DH confronted me with the amount of yarn that is stock piling in our bedroom and closet. I told him, I had a problem, I just wanted to buy pretty yarn all the time, even if the budget was tight. We came up with some goals for me

2 tank tops, 1 sweater, 12 socks, felt clogs, and a beaded Odessa hat....
These projects must be finished before I am allowed to spend any of our money on yarn. Of course gifts and traded goods don't count. Actually he wanted me to pick enough projects to last me until Christmas so I could get gift certificates from family and friends... He has a really good point ;)
I tried several times to make excuses, and startd to sweat! I really do have a problem; I was sweating over the thought of not buying yarn for myself for 6 months? eeek! I am already craving my first gift certificate and SP8 box!

Felt clogs are on the needles.. Hope they can dry before fathers day. Progree pics before they wash.

Y'all have a good week!

Your socks turned out great, and I'm glad you had fun last night.

I can TOTALLY relate with the yarn buying problem. I'm STILL trying to work through my stash, and I haven't bought any yarn for probably 6 months (except for some gorgeous Biggy Print and sock yarn...a girl can't go cold turkey!)

Oh, I so hear you. I love yarn so much -- more than I love knitting. I'm trying to be good and thank goodness for shop sample knitting!

Wow, that's a lot of projects before you can buy yarn. Hope you are a fast knitter. But, if you have all the yarn for those projects on hand, then maybe your husband has a point. My stash is getting a little out of control too. I'll probably never knit up all of what I have now.

I love the socks! I'm knitting the Badcaul socks for the Trek Along with Me knit along, it is a great pattern.

Argh, you are so lucky picking up crochet so quickly, you talented woman you! I am horrible at it, I always end up trying to do it with two hands, I guess I'm a knitter to the core! =)

Good luck with the stashbusting, it's so hard, there are so many yummy yarns out there to try.

Hey! If you really need a new yarn fix, we could always work up a trade of yarns in the stash, that way it feels new! ;) Goodluck!

Your finished socks are beautiful. Congratulations.

Good luck with your addiction. Think of all the nice thinks you can make with your yarn, and shop your own personal store if you like. When your stash disappears, there will still be lots of fantastic yarn out there. Think: IF YOU KNIT IT, IT WILL COME :)

Great socks! That yarn looks a little tempting (like I need any more!). I love crocheting too. I think it is a good thing to know how to do both!

well, with my experience with stash a long, i felt the first two weeks and the last two weeks were the absolute hardest. (kinda like South Beach diet).

And, twelve pairs of socks, or twelve socks? Because I don't think your list of projects will last you until Xmas.
