Contest, read ENTIRE blog!

Hi ya! I haven't posted in awhile and I have tried my best to keep up with my favorite blogs, but I got REALLY behind! I commented on as many as possible. I feel like I am missing out on stuff if I don't keep up with ya'll. I'm getting creepy in my old age huh?
I think my last post was a victim of bloggers tempermental attitude....I had posted like a good girl on Saturday night, but it didn't refresh on my actual blog until monday... wierd! So, if ya missed it I started "My so called scarf and I am in love with Manos.... I have not finished one project yet and I keep starting new ones..What is my deal? I just can't seem to commit? Here is a photo of two projects I was working on today, Helloyarn.com purse... and Hourglass sweater, yes that right folks I am actually working on the sweater again:)

My twin sis came by today and I showed her some yummy yarn. She loves the shrug I made a couple of months ago and wants a sparkley one for her strappy dress. We have been looking for the "perfect" yarn for months, and we found it! She purchased it immediately and it should be on the way soon if it isn't backordered.
You want to know what happened to me on Monday at the playground? Brandon was playing like any normal toddler and had a runny nose..yes it was green and gross, but he is on medication and no fever.. So of course i bring him out in public!!! A woman had the NERVE to come up to me a say infront of all the other parents," your little boy looks really sick, should he be here? He can get everyone else sick". She had this really spacey look in her eye and I could tell she wasn't to bright and a germaphobic "new mom"... I explained to her that he has seen the doctor and it was just allergies turned sinus infection and absolutely NOT contagious.. She argued with me!!!! "OH, well I have heard that sinus infections are very contagious he shouldn't be here". OKAY lady what planet were you raised on?!!My sister and I left... Carmen didn't want to leave but I was sooo angry I wanted to get out of there before I said something I really regretted!..Everyone I tell the story to, says we should have stayed...I didn't have my heart medication with me and BOY DID I NEED IT!!!!! I mean really, if you are so worried that your kid is going to get a cold you shouldn't bring him to a playground. How often do you think that equipment gets sanitized? It is teaming with virses and bacteria, even ecoli!!!! My kids runny nose should have been the least of that ding dong's worries!
Okay, off my soap box...
Please feel free to comment with any story you may have that made you just want to give someone a POP!..it will make me feel better;) and you could win a prize..A skein of Koigu already in center pull ball.

I was never a big scarf person until I learned to knit. You can imagine growing up in LA, MS, and TX...it really never got cold enough. Here are some beautiful scarves I plan on wearing this winter.  Image hosted by Photobucket.com
So this is the new coat I want to purchase to showcase my pretties! LOVE this coat but it is sixty bucks! Where am I gonna come up with that on a whim?

Here we go ladies, Yes, those are world series tickets and yes we sold them for a profit. I really wanted to go, but my husband talked me out of it.. the tickets were standing room only and I am kind of short and I have a bad back..

I am torn though.. I want to get some yarn from handpaintedyarn.com to make "Boggie" from Knitty, and some more wool for felted purses... so what do you think I should get? The coat... or the Yarn?????

This is a super quick post, LSU just won (sorry wendy) and the astros just lost :(... off to bed....

If the socks look big thats okay, none of them are for me!!!!

Well, I tried to hold off on getting Brandons hair cut, but it was getting  to darn long :( so here he is being bribed with a lolly not to run out of the door after it was over! Does he look handsome? When we got home Chris was really anxious to get a look at him, Chris said you can hardly tell.  He' s right! Just the curls are gone..

FO! FO! This is Airy Scarf after blocking...Mucho better! Blocking makes such a difference! This scarf is for my Mother-in-law.. Her b-day is the 22nd and I wanted to make something for her. Iused my wonderful Lornas Laces Heaven and did random eyelet rows, just thought it would look neat that way. She doesn't read my blog so I can post this before I wrap it up!

I am starting aproject for myself this week...Birch Shawl by Rowan.  My friend Wendy from Catknits sent me this kidsilk haze to do it! It was a total surprise, and much welcomed b/c I had a rough day the day it arrived in the mailbox :) Thanks Wendy!

This is a pic of the one she recently finished.. I love it and it is what prompted me to get info from her and surprise yarn!  All I have to do now is find the time and courage this week to cast on 299 stitches!!!! eek..wish me luck:)

I am up really late at night b/c I woke up sweating and pukey.. Why does the heat make you fell like that? Our AC is out and has been for the past weekend.. The AC guy came today but I missed him. Why do you ask? what could be so important that I miss the AC guy?  Knitting group of course! I wish I had pics but it was Brynne, Amy, and Sarah's b-days this week so we and Jenni all got together at a local mexican resturant.. all of our kids are around the same age so we had a blast.. Sarah, Amy, and I had margaritas too, yummy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADIES!
Exciting news! Houstonians had a chance to sign up for a "lottery" to purchase World Series tickets... Guess who won? Yep.. We got to purchase 4 tickets to the 4th game of the World Series..By the time I made it online to ticket master there was only standing room available, so I got 4 tickets anyway...Chris thinks he wants to sell them, so we probably will:)

see you in the funny pages:)

I went to knitting group and had a ball! Brynne was there knitting a sock and I hadn't noticed she was doing short rows until I was leaving!! We sat next to each other all night long:) I have always been interested in short rows for heels and toes..She sent me a formula when she got home that night, with a pattern to boot! After reading it carefully I freaked out and wrote her for HELP!!! I decided to do what I always do and just jump in by myself.. it is the best way to learn! so I was up all night and look what i did:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com I admit it is really "newbie" work but I got through it and it can only get better from here right? I will have plenty of practice with the toe before i start the second sock... BTW I used sport wieght baby yarn.

I got my package in from my needle pal Stacey from Sheep in the City and I got some bamboo circs, my favorite:)  I got another surprise in the mail too. My niece Virginia from Virgie Sews made stitch markers for me..Wasn't that sweet? She is always doing nice things for me...I need to pamper her!!!

Went to church on Sunday and we had a guest speaker, Craig Scott.  He was in Columbine...In the library to be exact, and his big sister was the first to be shot and killed....He shared his and his siter story and it was very touching and inspiring...There wasn't a dry eye in that place! What a brave person, and to be speaking in public Jr. highs sharing a message of kindness: that is a person to admire.....

On the knitting front I have started many new projects and will post pics by the end of the week. I am showing an interest in crochet????I think I am pretty interested, but people say the hand movements are totally different and I might find them awkward...I can give it a try right? I will purchase a 2nd crochet hook some day:)

Soaps or Sportacus?

Well, if you have youngs kids and watch Nick Jr. you know who Sportacus is:) When your a stay at home mom there really isn't cutting edge T.V. on during the day....Unless you watch the news channels, and if the kids are in the room most likely you will end up dazed by the cute cartoon catchaters learning about right from wrong.....
This is my life, between naptimes and cleaning. I don't mind, infact I releish my life...I have a close friend Jenn that is in the same sitiation as me but 3,000 miles away, maybe thats why we talk on the phone three times a day and have grown so close ;) Maybe it is our knitting habits and yarn fetish's! For example, I know her budget is tight but I couldn't wait to tell her about this when
I got an email from the company.... Now she is out $60 on a credit card. It was a great deal! She even bought 2 balls for me, coincidince? NOPE!
I am almost finished with the "lornas laces, Heaven" Airy Scarf... And I had to restart my sisters sock... Yep thats right folks I frogged that beautiful lace sock!!!
I got a good deal going with Shannon she is going to sew me a knitting bag, and I will trade with a knitted object. I haven't exactly decided what I will make her, but she will love it no matter what...
