Some people commented on the previous post that they thought the last picture of that post was my yarn dyed up. nope, not true it was Brooks Farm that I purchased weeks ago to make Clapotis.....
Fresh from Mama's Dye Pot!
But, here is the yarn I dyed up on Friday night....not bad for my first batch right? I think I may have a knack for this sort of thing ;) I will put them up for sale on my Etsy shop this week. I plan to make more in the same colorways..... These are the 450 yds. fingering yarns, the 1250 yrd. alpaca lace is still drying....
All 4 of the colorways
Land (Earth)
Day
Sea
This is called "night" notice the light patch? that is suppose to represent stars....
It was a lot of fun dyeing these up... I plan to do a lot more dyeing in the future!
Thanks for eyeballing the goods ;)
Updated! Here are the Alpaca Hanks, they are 1250 yds approx.... Same dyelots as the other clors... Alpaca takes yarn so differently!
Now leave a comment and your input about the yarn before Friday night and i will enter you into a contest to win some Socks That Rock!

They all look great, but I especially love Night and Sea.

i totally dig night. day looks like sea glass to me, so i love that too, even though it isn't a colorway i would normally pick up... ...they aren't my colors, therefore are outside my oh so comfy comfort zone.
sea is beautiful as well.
night is my favorite by far.
Night is my favorite! Do I have to wait until they're up on etsy?!?!?!?!
They turned out great Catherine. I especially like the Day.
Amy
I agree with the rest of the commenters. I love the NIGHT! The Earth comes in a close second for me. If this is your first batch of dyeing, I can't wait to see what you'll come up with next!
They look so yummy. I'm very impressed with how great they turned out!
Love the nature-inspired colorways. They all are so pretty. Earth, upon first viewing, was my favorite, but on my second viewing, I decided I like them all pretty much equally. They're beautiful.
I love all the colors. I especially like how you describe the light patches in night as stars. Congrats on expanding your business!!!
SEE, you have them sold already. better whip out that card for more yarn!
They look great! I love how the Night one looks. Fantastic job.
ohhh nice! Great job!
Once again congratulations on the great dying job. Love to see more!
Your yarn is just beautiful and do think you have a knack for it!
I love the sea colorway! And I love the idea for white patches for the stars in the night colorway, what a cute idea!
They look great! Love the night...with the white stars.
Awesome job on the dying! I especially LOVE the one you called "Sea"!!!
Great job girl! I especially love the night and earth! I can't wait to see your next batch!
You definately have a knack! I tried once with not nearly as nice results. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Earth and Night! Great job!
you're giving ppl til Friday? You MUST have a knack, b/c I know dying yarn isn't as easy as some ppl think... and yours turned out beautiful. Did you do it all in one pot? or did you stretch it out and hand paint?
Wow, these colors are great! "Land" reminds me of some Schaefer Anne I recently bought. I like the "In the Beginning" theme.
Those colors are beautiful. heck you did'nt need to have a contest to make me comment on that!
But hey if you really want to give away some socks that rock.. throw my name in the hat!
Oh my, how beautiful! My yarn diet is coming to an end (thank goodness!!) so I'll be able to buy some of this luscious stuff soon.
Fabulous colors! and I love the light "stars" on Night.
How pretty, I love the "day" colorway, that's my fav. Wow!
Gorgeous! I can't decide which one I like best. I love them all!
You certainly DO have a knack! Exquisite! xx
wow! those are so pretty - i like the "earthy" theme - the sea is my favorite!
Wow, Catherine, you are *so* multi-talented!!!! The yarns look beautiful. My favorite is Earth.
Best wishes on your Etsy shop, too!! =)
I can't decide if I like Sea or Earth better! They are all very pretty! I can't wait to see what you cook up next.
Night is definitly my favorite, but Sea is a close second!
I think they're all beautiful.
But if I was to buy one it would have to be Land/Earth as I love the tones and it would be the most versatile colour for me.
However, I love the way the Night one is dyed - I can just see that knit up with the stitches across the white patch as little individual 'stars'. Beautiful!
me again, I just tagged you if you're interested!
Night and Sea are my favorites because I like the blue hues, but really they all turned out stunningly beautiful! I'd love to see them in person.

I love the blues those are just beautiful! The colors in land are wonderful! You are very talented!!
Beautiful - I love the blue ones especially.
They are beautiful all of them, but "Sea" is my absolute favorite ! Love Vigdis from Norway
I love the new colors! They remind of some of the Fleece Artist colors which just happen to be some of my favorites. I'd say you definitely have a knack for this! :-)
They look great, I have to say Earth is my favorite closely followed by Sea.
Oh my, I guess you do have a knack for this! Those colors are the best and that Land(Earth) is perfect!! Makes me think I should give this a try~~nah, I'll leave it up to you!!
I like the blues but not fond of the browns. Great dye job! deb
Love the Autumn-toned ones! I always see beautiful hand-dyed yarns on people's blogs, and wish I was "Made of Money" so I could buy it all! And also have the time to knit it all up. :)
They're beautiful. This is your first effort at dyeing? Wow.
Your colorways are gorgeous! I agree, you DO have a knack for dying yarn.
I love your yarns! Wow!! They're all gorgeous!!
Your colorways are very beautiful, but as usual, I have my favs. The earth(land), and sea are fantastic. The other two have interesting possible applications. I am guessing that the other product you are producing is a lace type. I love the same hues in these. Subtle changes in values make my type of knitting more successful. Thanks for the new yarns!
They are beautiful! Land and Night are my favorites.
Beautiful yarns! I especially love the Land (earth) colorway.
Absolutely gorgeous! Earth is my favorite I think. Or ist is Sea? Oh.......I think I love them all! And what a handsome young man you have there!!!
Peg
Beautiful! I like them all and would be happy with any of them, but if I was forced to pick a favorite it would be... Land. Yes, Land. Stunning.
very pretty, hope you will give sock yarn dying a try!
I *LOVE* "Land(Earth)". Awesome colors. Will be interesting to see "Night" knitted up, too... with the stars.
Beautiful! I can't believe they're the first dyeing you've done.
I love the "Sea" and "Night" colourways as my favourite colours are blues and greens.
Can't wait to see what you dye next!
Your first batch of dyed yarns are gorgeous (sp) all of them. And I love the names you chose for your yarns.
Penny
interesting the difference in colorations between the merino and alpaca. Were they generally the same color/tone of white before you started?
I love the Earth colorway! Your dyeing is fabulous!
All for of them look very professionally made. Your color choice is exquisite. I hope my dying fiber will be as good as yours.
Guess, I'm to late for the contest since I get the digest and only just saw the contest. But I must say that the colors are really gorgeous! I especially love the night.
Love them!!! Especially Night and Sea.
OH MY MY MY!!! I just am in lvoe witht he sea & earth!!! WOW!! I'd lvoe to see how those knit up.. They all do look wonderful from this view.. very curious What type of yarn&dyes did you use and the color combos? Differnt fibers definately take dyes abit different..
Any chance of repeating....hope you keep good notes in a book or something
Good Luck!
My fav is earth. What a lovely colorway. I want to venture out in the dye rink sometime. You do loverly work.
congrats!
Great combinations. I love night with it's light patch.
Nicely done! It seems you do have an eye for colour.
so why does the winner get STR? your yarn is most worthy!
I love, love, love, Land(Earth). Fabulous colors. You do indeed have a knack for this. I'mn not so keen on the white areas in Night, too stark looking for me. But that's only personal bias as I know lots of knitters who love the look. What about an eggplant, burgundy, copper colorway? Hint, hint, hint. I will be visiting your Esty shop in search of the Land(Earth).
I love the land earth. Beautiful colors!
