WIP's, Gifties, and Prayers

I decided to flash my WIP's... I want to get organized:)  So this is the Irish Hiking Scarf, I love how soft this is, Iused 100% alpaca from Elann.com.......

Here is the Hourglass Sweater...Unfortunately I have gotten very little done on this, I have until Christmas to finish!!!

Kool-aid socks, boy are ya'll sick of these yet? I sure am!!!! I should be finished by tonight if the kiddos go to bed early:)

Gifties!!!I got a crane from Julie as A RAOK!!! she even sent it in a home made envelope!!!! you can find her blog here.

I know I fell of the wagon, but for a good cause!!!  I bought yarn for pumpkin hats for the preemie project...I am waiting on my needles to come in and then I can start!  I got Caron Simply soft and some barnet to make normal hats too.

My prayers are really focused these days on the devestated families of the central gulf coast....I myself have very good memories of living in Ocean Springs MS, only 3 miles across the bridge from Biloxi... I lived on the beach and my church was one hill away from the beach.  My thoughts are sad b/c I can't stop thinking of my favorite childhood town. Whats left of it?  I cried when I saw what happened to biloxi, Gulfport, Pass Christian...... Chris's family is ALL from New Orleans,  This weekend we had trouble contacting a lot of them b/c phone lines were so full!!! Some have sought refuge here in Houston and others are in Baton Rouge, Lafayette (my origianl hometown), and Alexandria....My family ( brother, cousins, aunts and uncles) lives in Lafayette and they are all okay...We all have been through hurricanes but nothing this major..

No Catch Phrase?

Couldn't think of anything spicy to head this post....I will think of something after I hit "Publish" I'm sure:) I have a bunch of stuff I am working on; Kool-aid socks just about done, Hourglass sweater coming along, finished a preemie hat, and there is that cabled Irish hiking scarf that lingers! My camera is out of juice so no eye candy today :( I received my first package from a stitch marker swapper! Yeah!!! I was getting pretty worried there...She is extremely talented! It is the cutest; a sheep charm and pink beads...How did she know that I also LOVE pink? I will post her blog and a pic next time.... Remember the Jawoll sock yarn I got from my wonderful SP5? It is being put to good use now... I decided to double it and make preemie stuff with it. Anyone want a health update? I went for my Stress Test on Wed. And of course the they induced the "extra heartbeat" so now they have pictures of my heart and a better understanding of what happens when it plagues me.... So will someone please explain it to me:) No really, they will call me next week and we will go from there...My meds are controlling it for now. (I can't get excited, nervous, or exercise) That is it for now, I feel a little stretched... This week has been kinda hard on me and I have neglected blogging and knitting, maybe that's why it was so hard:) have a good weekend.

Heaven

Hey all you guys!  Well, I started knitting that Lornas laces heaven up pronto.... I am just doing a simple airy scarf to get the hang of working with this stuff.  I really like how it is turning out:)

I have brought the Kool-aid sock back from the grave and i am picking up the sitiches now on the gusset!  this is the part where I messed up last week and had to rip the entire thing up!!!! I really can't do two things at once, and I thought I would work on my sock and talk on the phone... I will never make that mistake again... I could have been done with my sock by now and be wearing them!!!!  My first sock came out flawlwss and I don't want this one to be sore on the eyes!

I have vowed not to buy yarn until Jan. since I splurged and bought Heaven... I am regretting it!  Knitpixie just had a sale on organic cotton; kicking myself!!!!!! Seems like there are a ton of things I want!!! Why is it when you start restricting yourself you want that stuff more:) Human Nature I guess?
Ohhh!  I am really excited about the preemie project... I signed up way back in April and I have only been able to donate yarn... now I am making goals for myself to knit some stuff up and donate.... I think I may learn to sew since they are in desperate need for blankets.  If your interested in getting involved go here.

Jo Sharp Desert Garden: Latte Sz 8 and 5 needles

I kind of put this easy knit to the side a couple of times so it took me awhile to finish... I love this pattern I WILL be making lots of these with different yarns!  So I have a FO folks, just finished this puppy up a few moments ago... I did the sleeves last night and the ribbing today and tonight!  so here it is......

Good News and Bad News!

Good News: I purchased a new car for my college grad! It was meant to be a surprise but I got jerked around by the first dealership, and finally went to Saturn yesterday and I left with his new car!  He was so excited when I pulled up in the driveway.  The beast will be turned in tomm. night as a trade in, we are gonna miss him the bronco was good to us!

Bad News: I had to frog my second kool-aid sock this morning,,, time of death 10:20 am central time :-(  I will get busy tonight and do the cuff  before bed.

Good News: Went to LYS and Bought something very special for myself... Lorna's Laces Hevan in colorway Goldhill.  I love this color!!!!  I was pacing the floors looking for yarn to buy and I am a sucker for LL, so I asked if she had it... she said "we just got a shipment it's in the back, I will go get it".  A couple of us went through the box and I saw Vera, love that colorway too. and then I saw it!!!!! I Knew I had to buy it!!! yep, I shelled out $$$ for this but it is worth it, here are the pics!

975 yrds of bliss! I will make many things with this instead of just a single shawl, gotta make this hevan stretch!  Sorry it has been so long since my last post.  Hillard started school on Wed. and I just had time to work on OSW this week not much else.... so i really had nothing to post about! I was too tired to go to my knitting group, now ya'll know I had to be TIRED!

Gifties and more!

Okay so I finally started my moms hourglass sweater; go me! I am knitting with Plymouth Encore Worsted, Navy Blue...... I had to use a Sz 9 needle to get the gauge right.  I am already past my first decrease because I had to wait in a lot of lines today!!! Got my car inspected, got new tires, then off to a Dr's check up for me!  here are the 3 photos i snapped just a few minutes ago..

it is so dark it is kind of hard to see, trust me it's beautiful!

Look at that beautifully rolled edge! Me likey this pattern so far...I am so excited about it my poor kool-aid socks have been put on hold for the past 2 days:(

Oh my whats this? Lornas Laces shepard sock yarn? How pretty, china blue and a green.....will make beautiful lace socks for someone at christmas.....muhahahah!!!!

Keri sent this to me to thank me for hosting the needle exchange! wasn't that super sweet? knit picks perrrrfect.I got it on Friday along with a package from my SP5, she sent lots of goodies too, more sock yarn ladies...( i repeat) muhahaha!!!!! Just look at those stitch markers too! Thank you SP !!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone!  I have finished two of my projects and decided to show them off:)  First I have to thank Jennifer and Heide for the lovely gifts!  Jennifer was my needles exchange pal, and I love the goodies she sent!!! Needles and yarn, who could resist? Heide sent me a Vouge Knitting mag that I won on her blog and some sock yarn from knit picks... she also sent pixie stix but they didn't last long enough to be photographed, he he he! Notice the sock yarn in each gift, these ladies know me:)



Here is Airy Scarf motified! IT HAS NOT BEEN BLOCKED!!! so it looks a little crappy, that will soon be fixed... i hope =O

Thought ya'll might want a little baby lovin' so here is Brandon!! he sat here all by hinself, it was a big challenge and he clapped!  He also knows a little sign language too:) He just turned 14 mos....

Can you see what the Big Guy is reading? Hillard is reading my InterweaveKnits !!! This is the last time I saw my magazine, he hid it somewhere in the house:)

Well, we all know that I have to start watching what I eat, my ticker could use the good judgement! So I found out No Pudge has an ice cream line... 4 grams of fiber in each dessert, and they taste devine!!!!! Isn't the pig the cutest?

I finished another Noro hat! yeah me! only took me a day to knit it, I just avoided it for awhile:) So I am wearing my first attempt to please the DH and then I got the fit perfect and he is wearing the second attempt!


So I got tagged by Amy and it's "Idosyncrasy" what are 5 little wierd things are characteristics that best describe me?

1. I can't do two things at once... virtually impossible, Chris makes fun of me for it!
2.My food can't touch, at all!!! Sometimes I even seperate my casserole dish when I plate it.. feaky I know...always have been this way always will!! everyone makes fun of me for this one! Jenn you know who you are....
3. I am afraid of the water, large bodies of water.... but my dream house is on the beach with a big porch to look out to the ocean.....and i LOVE to sail!
4. When putting up the laundry, I go to our closet to get empty coat hangers... about 95% of the time I get the number of hangers that I need right without counting... it just feels right.  psychic or just dumb luck?
5.  Can't think of anything else.....but i am sure my friends can think of lots of wierdness about me:)

My husband Chris comes home and tells me he wants to go on vacation to Las Vegas! (thats where we got married) I said great! We decided on December...Called my friend Jenn And discussed this with her, of course her DH said yey, we're in, but she was more cautious so basically we maybe going to Lake Tahoe instead of Las Vegas in December then it is only a 90 min drive for them to meet us...We are still thinking about it. Chris and I really want to see her and her DH they are such good friends, lets see if we can make it happen:) Good couple friends are soooo hard to find!
